here they come
these other dimensions
these gale-force metamorphoses
these blue stars
rushing
at all my different
eyes
harshly
sweetly
they tumble me
here they come
these other dimensions
these gale-force metamorphoses
these blue stars
rushing
at all my different
eyes
harshly
sweetly
they tumble me
they lure me
they thrust me
to this exquisite place
where I breathe
where I love
where I die
many times
this trance
- when I write
they thrust me
to this exquisite place
where I breathe
where I love
where I die
many times
this trance
- when I write

Do tigers go to water?
Interesting pic of the tiger. I know most tigers are not water avoidant.
Love the poem. Gotta love when that experience happens to you when you write.
I agree with Charles. "Writers High" is one of the best feelings you can ever hope to experience.
Great Poem :)
Pshaw woman! Change the label, this is not almost poetry, it is poetry!
Well done. I particularly like the near breathless sensual quality of the words and the order you have them in.
Oh wow. Brilliant, Vesper. :) That's a wonder, gut-felt description of writing.
Sometimes the trance is literal for me. I stop seeing and hearing what's going on around me.
at all my different eyes--god, I love that, vesper. Such a sweet, terrible chaos to be corralled. What a wonderful world we live in!
And that photo--like ferocity trying to be contained. Perfect.
That is exactly it! The idea comes at us like a hurricane. We are tumbled around - then, we get focused - finally, we shut everything else OUT and write! It is definitely a place of a higher realm.
Your poety is filled with emotional sincerity. Extraordinary work.
Oh yea!
exquisite...
as another 'tony [the tiger]', i approve of the pic ;)
Great poem. So true! Love the photo, as well!
Yes, tigers swim, Ropi. :-)
Thank you, Charles. It's a "high" I seek always, despite the "low" that usually follows...
Will, thank you! You're so right... It's nice to see that others share it...
Mark, I am modest, sometimes... But have I not been like that, I wouldn't have had this colourful comment. :-) You should've seen me beaming when I read it. Thank you! :-)
Wow, Jason, thank you! Yes, it is a real trance. I become almost totally disconnected of the "real" world while I physically live the "other" one...
Sarah, yes, our worlds are terrible and wonderful... Thank you! The trance is anything but tranquil…
K, thank you! I’m so glad you experience this too…
Yes, Bernard! :-)
Thank you, Laughingwolf! :-) Glad you approve of the pic… :-)
Lana, thank you so much! And thank you for visiting! :-)
This is brilliant!! You captured that other-worldly feeling perfectly. I love the picture also, and I love how the blue covers your words as I scroll to read them.

that is a great line!!!!
Oh wow, love the poem, understand the experience so well - wonderful!
Loved your tiger pic!

love the feeling, you capture it well.
When reading recently that poets are predisposed to write good prose, (having already trained themselves to look at language in certain ways. To play close attention to using words carefully and exactly.), I thought of you.
Thank you, Chris, I felt I had to write about it since it's such a strong feeling. I find the blue soothing...
Hotwire, thank you kindly!
Thank you, Vanilla, it's great to know that it's a feeling that writers share...
xoxoxo
Thank you, Taffiny. Your words move me... I thank you. It's strange, it's prose I wrote first, (almost) poetry only much later...
Wonderful poem and a great choice of picture. I love it. :D
Thank you, Benjamin! I'm glad you liked this. :-)
