Random Thought

If I could only start anew
shed the grey life’s carapace
step out of my unwanted self
leave it behind like a shrivelled fruit
instead of carrying it with me
- a worn coat
too modest for any banquet

oh, to fly free
oh, to hold again the hope
of all that I could be

Moist wings,
drying in the warm air
change and rebirth.

the other day, i think it was Monday, the first day of August, i went for a short ride on a bike. i stopped inside the forest and let the bike lay down on the dirt road. i tested my ability to run. i haven't run in a very, very long time.
i had a goal: to reach a crossroad some 120-150 metres ahead. when i got there my bike was hardly visible through the somewhat dark forest.
the new road was a concrete one, outside the forest.
i seriously toyed with the idea of running further, running, without ever returning to the bike, or home, for that matter.
:)
i like your choice of photo.

word verification: dallyzoo - i fancy this name :)

Very nice sentiment, especially considering the pictorial. :)

yeah, but unlike the cicada, we don't have that option... well said!

Charles, I felt such joy, watching their moist wings unfold and gradually dry...

SzélsőFa, it's so tempting sometimes... It's interesting the passage from the forest to the dirt road to the concrete one...

Bernard, thank you. They're so ugly and so beautiful at the same time. It was fascinating to see them in my own garden.

Thanks, LW, yeah, we don't, in spirit maybe but with great difficulty...

Oh, I missed this post when I was here before. Amazing photos Vesper, truly amazing. And your words, ring true...these are signs and symbols of hope.

Hugs my dear, G :<)
