First Snow in November

The Winter Queen is dancing
above the town
When she sways
and swirls
to the music
of angels
or of the spheres,
her ball gown
-regal as she is-
sheds pearls and diamonds
on her subjects
They make luxurious jackets
for trees and squirrels
and turn into hot kisses
on my eyelids

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!!!

First snowfall is indeed magical as my hero Hibbs (the bear with 2 shadows) believes: you go to sleep in one world and wake up to another quite transformed and mystically beautiful. :-)

Lovely poem. May your holiday season be a wonderful one!

It is a beautiful piece of poetry you have written there my friend. Someone has to love the winter or the season would never go away to make room for the summer lovers.

A chill and warmth, all in one. :)

Magyar, thank you! I can see the Moon doing just that. :-)

Thank you, Charles! :-)

Fireblossom, and the snow stays... Lovely new photo you have! :-)

Brian, she keeps dancing here too... :-)

Roland, it is magical and it's best to think of it that way... rather than be upset about the cold and the traffic... Thank you for your comment and your good wishes. Right back at you! :-)

Denise, thank you so much! I'm very glad you liked this. :-)

Mark, my friend, thank you! I'm happy that you liked this. Winter... yes, I can't really say that I love it, but I try to see the nice things in it, otherwise it would be too hard to endure... :-)

Thank you, Bernard! :-) :-) :-)

I'm not a huge fan of the snow but your poem has made it seem both magical and calming to the soul. It's strange how someone else's interpretation can turn something into so beautiful so thank you for this.

Kim, thank you so much! You've got to love snow a little bit here in Canada... I hope you have a wonderful week! :-)

Gina, thank you so much for your kind words and for following this blog! Much appreciated! I'm not a fan of the snow either, that's why I need some fantasy... :-)

I always love reading your lovely poems, Vesper -- even if I'm seeing them a week late! Thanks for the good wishes and for making snow seem like a good thing :).
