Sweet Vanilla thinks I’m sweet so she gave me this award of sweetness… Vanilla, I thank you from my sweetest of hearts!
What I like about this picture is that apples have been chosen. That’s a good thing because apples could be a little sour so the results won’t be sickly sweet but pleasantly sweet – sweet-and-sour, hmmm, that I can deal with easily…
And here's a picture to bring some sweetness to your heart - a bunch of funny decorated pumpkins (just imagine the little hands working on them) in the schoolyard, at the Pumpkin Ball, on a beautifully warm Sunday afternoon...

This reminds me of the saying "you're the apple of my eye" and also the fact that sometimes the word "pumpkin" is used as a term of endearment.
Pumpkins are a necessary ritual!
very nice photos and it must be an honour to get a card like that
Vesper,
Congratulations sweet Vesper. Sorry but I haven't found you sour at all.
A pumpkin ball? Is that a term of your own, or one commonly used? Suddenly I am seeing round orange forms, fully decorated, paired up, and waltzing about. Ut oh, I am starting to even hear the music...
I had forgotten about that, Colleen! :-)
Indeed they are, Bernita. :-)
Thank you, Ropi! ;-)
Thank you, Taff! No, that's what they called it, The Pumpkin Ball. Except, of course, there was no dancing. :-) But the kids all wore costumes and they had a great time...
Cute pumpkins! I do love this time of year!
Very cool punkins, V.
Love those pumpkins, sweet Vesper! Now I want to go and paint a pumpkin, only we don't get pumpkins shaped like yours! :-) xx
You deserve it, Vesper.
I imagine little hands that are now blue with white fuzz and random foam stickers up their forearms!
That's what I love about toffee apples ... bad and good, sweet and sour, bad on the outside but good on the inside! Takes away the guilt. :-)
Ello, yes, I like it too, despite of what we've talked about the commercialisation. Kids love it!
Thank you, John!
You can paint any pumpkin, Vanilla, just go ahead and do it for the fun of it! :-) :-) :-)
Jason, thank you so much!
Yes, Aine, just like that! :-) And to think that all that was done by witches, and princesses, and pirates, and ghosts... :-)
Seamus, ah, you've said it: the guilt! But sweet isn't totally bad... :-) :-) :-)
They look fun. Actually I cannot think what else you would do with pumpkins, since I have never been tempted to eat them.
Vesper you ARE very sweet ... i can't think of a finer blogger (other than ms. vanilla herself) to receive this award. Props to you, girlfriend!!
and i LOVE THESE PUMPKINS !!! they are so creative. oh, to be able to view the world as a child does: all that wonderful imagery, magic ...
these are perfect!!
xxx
Addy, pumpkin pie is quite delicious. I also eat them baked in the oven - some are sweet and if they're not sweet enough you can put some sugar on them.
Red, I'm blushing to the tips of my ears! Thank you, sweet girl!!!
The world through a child's eyes... Oh, I'd like to have that again... xoxoxo
