No Doubt

I look at Poetry in reverence
as it flows to me
on this December morn.
Gods’ frozen whispers
are lashing at the world.

Are these my everlasting doubts,
I wonder.
They come to me in the shape
of a Gorgon.
Snakes of snow,
adorning its head of fears,
threaten to turn
my heart into stone,
my very soul into
ashes,
if only I glanced
at its might.

It is your love, my darling,
my beloved,
my lover,
it is your fire
that quells
these illusions
of blizzard.

It is your hand
that holds mine
on this path
of ices.

And we dance
and we kiss
and we float in the snow.

I loved that last stanza. I could almost hear it to a lovely melody. If I were a songwriter, you would be my lyricist.

I was frightened and comforted :)
A nice poem for the celebration of love and light. A real match for the season. It is love that saves us.

Oh, Ello, thank you, you are so kind. Let's try it! :-)Those last lines sang to me too...

Thank you, Red, it's a difficult topic; I too am afraid of it, especially since I'm mostly sad and (deep) happiness is mostly in my imagination... Much love and many hugs to you! :-)

Thank you, Wayne!!! Now you made me think of Highlander... :-)

Szelsofa, thank you! The snow we had yesterday, 31.6 cm, was quite frightening, especially when driving in almost no visibility, with the snow rushing at the windshield... The rest comes from the heart... :-)

Beautiful! I was mesmerized by the metaphor of the Gorgon. Skill and passion. A potent combination.

Sweet. Love is stronger than storm.

Well, is it strange that I would rather play snowbattles instead of kissing in the snow?

in cold and warmth, makes one shivery.

Best to always have someone there with you, to take your hand, when facing snow.

I fear that I am not worthy of your lyrics as I do not have the musical talents to match your powerful words. I came back cause I wanted to read this poem one more time. It is such a cold blustery night here and snow is in our forecast. This was a perfect poem to end my night. The last two stanzas have their very own music lifting it through my mind.

I wanted to say thanks for the smile on my face.

Thank you, Jason, I feel humbled.

Bernita, thank you. I hope it is...

Not at all, Ropi, not at all. Snowbattles are perfect! :-) :-) :-)

So true, Taffiny!

Ello, I'm at a loss of words. It makes me happy that you liked the poem enough to come back to it. You are very very very kind. I hope snow will go easier on you than it did on us. :-)

That is so beautiful, Vesper, so tender, so evocative, so hopeful despite the frozen whispers lashing at the world. Cold and snowy winters are perfect for cuddling and hand holding :-)

Thank you, Vanilla, your words are much appreciated. :-)
