Happy 2020!
I will once again imagine myself having stepped upon a threshold. The door was wide open and there is a lot of brightness ahead, crisp blue skies and emerald grass. And my beloved ocean, of course. I am not hesitant, I am only hopeful. Good things await to happen. 2020 sounds good in many ways. It feels good when I say it or think it. A good, round sound. It feels luminous, crystalline. Like having 20/20 vision perhaps. A clear road ahead, even if I cannot know exactly where it is taking me.
I wish everybody good walking boots, a keen eye and a fluffy soul. A very Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Everybody!
I wish everybody, big and small, a blessed, healthy 2017. Be kind to you and to those around you. Dream. Hope. Laugh. Dance.
(And if nothing else works, we could always follow the advice of my favorite angel, Castiel.)
On a more serious note, if you have a good thought to spare, please send it to this little fellow.
This is Blues, the child of a cat and a child of mine. He is four years old. He is the sweetest, gentlest, cutest, cuddliest cat I've ever met. In November, we have discovered that his kidneys are not well. Over Christmas, he's been in the hospital, on IVs. Now he's at home and doing much better. Here he is, asleep on my lap after he ate plenty of shrimp to celebrate the New Year.
(You can see where the fur was shaved for the catheter. His skin is grey where his fur is grey and pink where the fur is white...)
This, they say, is not a curable disease. The prognosis, they say, is guarded. Well, I intend to prove them wrong. Other people have done it. I do believe that there is more to all life on this Earth than we are generally taught there is. I do believe that we are all linked in ways much deeper than we could probably imagine. And if we do touch that deeper level then amazing, wonderful "miracles" could happen.
Blues seriously needs all the positive energy and all the good vibes he can get. So, please, do send some his way from the kindness of your heart.
Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2016!
I was about to write a last minute gloomy (almost) poem about the stealthiness with which 2016 has sneaked past me, when I found this in my inbox...
I got a good laugh out of it. Go see for yourself at Atlas Obscura...
Maybe to squeeze the last minute out of 2016 would be tempting... but, no... I'd rather say Enough of it!
I'm actually looking forward to 2017, not in excitement, but with timid hope.
And so I say, Goodbye, 2016...

Goodbye, 2015
It's hard for me to believe that 2015 is almost over. (It's hard to believe that we're already talking about 2015 when just the day before it was 2000...) A few more hours, a few drinks, and that's it...
When did it go away? Well, it had a whole year for that, but it feels like much less, much, much less...
How did it go away? In a blur, that's for sure... And what did I do? Well, I guess... outlined a little, wrote a little, read a little, lived a little (did a lot of farming on Hayday!)...
All in all, it hasn't been a bad year for me. Not a spectacular year, but not a bad year either, and that's also important, isn't it?
Bye-bye, 2015!

Slowness
Somehow,
to me this New Year feels less delineated than previous ones. January 1st
feels more like just a date in the calendar than a new beginning. Thus, my need
for New Year’s resolutions is vague, if anything.
Certainly,
I could promise myself to write a novel, to finish what I have started, to
write more on this blog, to visit more blogs, or rather give a sign that I’ve
been there, to read more books, to do this, that and the other, and, of course,
all of them more, more, and more, faster, faster, and faster. After all, I did
that every January. And every year I did my best to achieve these goals of
doing, and if I couldn’t, then I would struggle even more. With each new struggle
to do more and do it faster, regardless of its outcome, one thing came for
sure. One thing that I’ve come to dread. The overwhelming feeling of Time
slipping through my fingers, bringing about the panic of running out of time.
This
has to change. Because, you see, this time I’m planning more to be than to do.
Just be, here and now, smell the roses or the coffee, even write a line or two
when I feel like it, with no pressure. I’m not that sure how this can be done,
but I’ll learn.
Less
is more, that’s what they say, don’t they?
So,
yes, this is my resolution for 2013. Slowness.

Happy New Year!
I'm daydreaming of spring...
But it still snows...
it snows...
We're snowed under...
A bit of gymnastics...
and a dream of the Arctic...
Better get ready to ring in the New Year...

Happy New Year

I hope it's simple and bright, sweet like new hope, round with fulfilled wishes, puzzling, loving, shaking with laughter.
For you, for me, for everyone.
Happy New Year!
For you, for me, for everyone.
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

May 2011 hold that sparkle to make it glow and grow into a fabulous year.
In 2011, may you keep or find and keep good health and good love.
May you find in your heart the hope and the tenacity to hold on to your dreams and resolutions. May they come true.
To all who read this, and to everybody else, Happy New Year!
Cheers!
